It is 10 o’clock and I have my feet up watching Monday Night RAW :0) What a great way to spend the evening! Well, I am not going to lie…I am exhausted! My weekend at the Southern Women’s Show was amazing. I met some amazing women and hopefully got some inspiration out there!
I did get about 14 speaking engagements, so that will be exciting. I can’t wait to get out there and share my story. We all need inspiration and motivation. I think a lot of women can relate to my story in some way. We all have a story and it doesn’t matter what size you are or what you look like. It is about finding a love for yourself just as you are today. Self-acceptance is an amazing power that you can give yourself. When you are confident and believe in yourself, there is nothing you can’t accomplish.
I am going to share something with you. We all face something everyday that challenges us and just because I have written a book about my story, doesn’t mean that I don’t still battle variables of life. I am still human and make plenty of mistakes. I don’t feel worthy sometimes, and I don’t think I deserve certain things, and some days I wake up and don’t like what I see in the mirror. The important thing to remember is that no matter how you are feeling, you have to keep yourself on the positive train. If you get down on yourself, it is so hard to pull yourself out of it. Everyday is a new day. The things we encounter and go through are parts of our journey.
I have had a few people, who are still good friends with my ex-husband, think that my book is based on him. The truth is, he is only in 2 our of the 15 chapters. He was a small part of my journey, not the defining factor. I am the only defining factor in my journey. He was a small piece that brought a big realization…I love being me!
My point is, you are the captain and you have the right to stand up for you and get what you deserve. We all deserve to be happy and lead a life full of love, support, and gratitude. Life is an amazing gift. Why would you want to spend your time angry, sad, and blaming other people for something you are going through? We all play a big part in what happens in our life. You can only accept what is happening and if it is something that you are not proud of, then only YOU can fix it. It is time to stop placing blame and time to step up to determine your own fate. You are pretty amazing and it is time you started believing it.
I know this sounds simple and you are probably thinking, “alright, Chasity we get it!” But the truth is, I am amazed at the amount of people who don’t think they deserve the best. We have all done things we wish we could take back, but those incidents actually helped show us something within ourselves that we needed to see. Everything we go through are stepping stones on our road of life. If we didn’t have bumps and hills, then it wouldn’t show us what we are capable of. People see you through your eyes, so show them the amazing person that lies beneath. You will be amazed at what happens!!!
Well, I think I have made my point. So, I am going to leave you with this thought…
“Happiness is where we find it, but rarely where we seek it.”
